Red Bull Racing has revealed their 2016 livery on February 17 at an event in East London. The revealing comes just 5 days before the first F1 test in Barcelona. Other announcements at the event included a “long-term partnership” with global sports brand Puma.
This year’s livery is considerably different versus previous years for Red Bull. This is due to their title sponsor since 2013, Infiniti, parting ways with the Austrian outfit following less than desirable results in 2015. The livery was displayed on last year’s RB11 and its believed Red Bull will not show their 2016 RB12 until the first test in Barcelona.
Another new sponsor visible on the livery is that of watch making company TAG-Heuer. They will also supply Red Bull their engines, which are simply rebranded 2015 Renault engines.
Daniel Ricciardo commented at the event saying: “There’s always a buzz in F1 at this time of year and launching the new car livery, race wear and a new team look, as we did today, gets the season started in a fun way”.
Spirits seem high as Puma confidently showed of all of their new clothing lines for the drivers, staff and fans. The key feature of the stylish new design will be “the stampedeâ€, a graphic illustration of charging bulls which will feature across all lines of clothing.
Red Bull is only the 2nd team to reveal their 2016 colors, behind the Renault F1 Team. Ferrari is the next planned unveiling as they will live stream their event on February 19. Pre-season testing will be the first glimpse of Red Bull’s new livery in action and it gets underway in Barcelona on February 22.
