Pedro Transfer to Take a Dramatic Turn?
Chelsea are launching a last minute bid to sign Barcelona forward Pedro Rodríguez, according to reports in The Telegraph and SkySportsNewsHQ.
The 28-year-old attacking player had been expected to complete a move to Man United before the weekend, though the new reports are suggesting that the player is now in London ahead of a medical. Pedro has been keen about moving to a Premier League club after being deemed surplus to requirements at Barcelona.
Man United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is believed to have taken a flight to Spain in the past couple of days to finalise a €31 million deal for the star, however the interest from the Champions is a late twist that could see the Spaniard join the Londoners.
Jose Mourinho had contemplated a move for Pedro in January 2015, though his ineligibility for the Champions League as he was cup-tied led to the Blues signing Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.
Mourinho is believed to be considering a fourth and final bid of around €56million for Everton defender John Stones even though the Toffees manager Roberto Martinez and Chairman Bill Kenwright have stated publicly on numerous occasions that the young England International is not for sale at any price.
Will the Pedro transfer take the Spaniard to London or Manchester?
