Gerard Deulofeu Transfer – The Second Coming

By Luke Madden

Done deal!

The worst kept secret on Merseyside has finally been revealed as truth today, as Everton confirmed that they have invested €6 million to acquire the services of Gerard Deulofeu. The Deulofeu transfer is something that many Evertonians have dreamed of since the tricky Spaniard first graced the turf of Goodison Park.

A winger in which Evertonians have spoken highly of since he left the club after his loan spell…it all seemed a dream that one day he’d return on a permanent basis…however, the day has come. Most Everton fans would agree the deal has gone on forever, non-stop posts on social media saying that the Gerard Deulofeu transfer would be signed today, or that he’s in Liverpool having talks with Everton, etc. After a long wait since the deal had pretty much been confirmed by Sky Sports News. Today Everton FC released a statement confirming that the deal for the skillful Spaniard has been done. The player took to social media today to confirm the news

Gerard Deulofeu is a pacey, direct winger who will add that crucial bit of flair in the final third which Everton will need in the coming Premier League season.

“Gerard needs no introduction to anyone here at Everton, for we are all well aware of his incredible footballing talent,” said Everton manager Roberto Martinez. “We got to know him really well from his loan period, not only as such a talented player but also his great character. He will be a fantastic asset to our Club.”

The Deulofeu transfer will add another starlet to other young talented stars at Everton right now, like Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, John Stones, Seamus Coleman, Luke Garbutt (who is set to sign a five-year contract) and James McCarthy.

If all goes right for Everton in the transfer window, retaining the services of the players listed above and bringing in a new center back and striker, then they could be a force to reckoned with in the 2015-16 Premier League.
